EMIS Access allows patients to order their repeat medication through the website at their leisure, 24 hours a day. Whether at home or work you can quickly log on and submit your repeat medication request. It is especially useful when the practice is closed, telephone lines are busy or you are simply unable or don’t wish to visit the practice.
When our Dispenser has accessed the request it will display as accepted on your EMIS Access home page. Please note, this DOES NOT mean the prescription is ready. It merely means that the request is being processed. We will still require TWO WORKING DAYS to process your request. We do ask that you do not use the message facility to request any medication not on your repeat list. The new service will also allow patients to inform the practice of changes of address and/or telephone numbers. We can only accept changes of address within our practice area. If you are unsure about this please check with the Receptionist. If we have a query regarding your new address we will contact you by telephone or letter as we are unable to reply through the website.
In addition, details of appointments which have already been made with your Doctor in the usual way can be viewed. This means that you can check the date and time of your appointment. You can also cancel the appointment if you are unable to attend. The Receptionist will be able to see that the appointment has been cancelled using the website facility.
To use this new service please contact the Dispensary to register. You will be given a letter with all the information you need.
We will be monitoring the use of the service which we are sure patients will find most useful. If we find that a user is abusing the service (e.g. sending inappropriate or abusive messages), we will revoke their access. They will then need to liaise with the practice to have this reinstated. The website provides help screens to guide you.
