About Us

At Laurel Bank Surgery our aim is to provide a professional and family friendly healthcare service.

The practice was awarded the Quality Practice Award in 2004. This is a prestigious award given by the Royal College of GPs to practices in recognition of superior standards.

The Doctors operate personal lists and see their own patients as far as possible. The ability to consult the same doctor on a regular basis has many advantages. Patients tell us that they prefer to have a personal doctor who they can get to know and who knows them and their medical problems. However having a personal doctor may limit patients' choice or slightly delay the availability of appointments.

All patients therefore have a choice of seeing a male or female GP. We ask patients to book with their registered doctor or team partner so we can deliver more personal care but in urgent situations you could be seen by any of the doctors.

We aim to maintain our high standards but if you think we have fallen short, please let us know. See the patient charter.

The practice serves patients living in Malpas and the surrounding area. For more exact details see the practice area map.

We are a dispensing practice which means that patients living further than 1 mile from any chemist can obtain medicines from our in-house dispensary.
For more details, please go to the prescriptions page.

Patients living within 1 mile of the chemist may not use the practice dispensary except for emergencies. For details of local chemists go to useful contacts.

For hospital referrals the practice mainly uses the Countess of Chester and the Wrexham Maelor Hospitals but there are a wide variety of local hospitals both NHS and Private to choose from.

More information about our services can be found on the clinics and services web page

We have a patient participation group that meets annually to enable patients to have their say in the way the practice is run and to help us provide the service patients need.
